Tema Youth boss Parma touts Emmanuel Clottey's credentials

Posted On Tuesday, 24th July 2012

Emmanuel Clottey has been awesome for Berekum Chelsea

By Patrick Akoto

Tema Youth Chief Executive Winfred Osei Parma has touted the credentials of Emmanuel Clottey and insists the striker is not operating at his full potential.

The 24-year-old continued his rich vein of scoring form by netting a brace in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw at TP Mazembe in the second group game of the Caf Champions League.

The former Odense BK and Wacker Innsbruck attacker has consistently  warmed the bench of the Black Stars but after his goal scoring exploits,  there are many who believe it’s time to give him a starting role in the team.

His skills, rate of knots, deadly strikes and goal scoring prowess have contributed significantly to making him a powerful goal scoring brand on the continent.

But the Tema Youth boss insists his former employee has not hit his best form yet.

“I can say that Clottey is not in the best of form yet. He has not fully realised his full potential,” Parma said

“If he is operating at full length, he is simply unstoppable. When we brought him to Tema Youth, we knew he was the best at his position,”

“All we need to do as a country is to encourage him and give him all the needed support. As far as I am concerned that is what he needs and he will continue to explode,”

“But trust me he hasn’t shown anything yet. He is yet to peak and when he does, we will all be living testimonies of his immense talent.”

He is the leading goal scorer with 11 goals from seven matches and just two goals shy of equaling Nigerian Stephen Worgu 13 goals haul set in 2007.

Well said Parma.it is something i have been saying to people everyday. Emma Clottey is my bruv and the Clottey everyone knows during his days with Mighty Victory is not the Clottey today. He needs to be encouraged to reach his full potential.he has a lot in him that is not yet out.thanks once again Parma.

  2. pablo says:

His chance-to-goal ratio is fantastic that is The hallmark of a modern striker, quiet in a game but lethal with a chance, not wasting 7 chances n scoring 2 , but 3 of 2 even 3 of 3 on a very good day. What tickles me is his calm but sharp instincts in The 18 yard box. Clottey is in his prime. Akwasi appiah shd not be stubborn,he is better than our starting strikers and so shd start

  3. city says:

He is the reason Gyan has returned.
