Ghanaian players returned to action after the international break and GHANAsoccernet.com in collaboration with Ghana Television's Sports Plus channel pick the outstanding performers of the weekend. 

South African-born defender Kwabena Adusei has made the squad for the first time and there is a return for defender Mitch Apau who is shifted to central defence.

GHANAsoccernet.com's Akyereko Frimpong Manson unwraps the TotW in a 4-1-2-1-2 formation.

ADAM KWARASEY - Keeper

Kwarasey was in post for Stromsgodset in the Norwegian Eliteserien and helped them win 2-1 against Lillestrom, making crucial saves and important attack initiating kicks.

NANA ASARE - Left-back

The 28-year-old was impressive for KAA Gent who shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw with Sporting Charleroi on Sunday in the Belgian Pro League.

BABA RAHMAN - right-back

After setting up a goal for Ghana in the 2015 AFCON qualifier against Guinea in mid-week, the 21-year-old returned to club duty and came off the bench to set up a goal for Augsburg in their 2-1 reverse at Mainz 05.

KWABENA ADUSEI - central defence

Returned from international duty to score for Black Aces and set up a goal when they beat Moroka Swallows 3-2 in the South African Absa Premier Soccer League on Saturday.

MITCH APAU - central defence

Apau distinguished himself with a commanding performance for Westerlo in the Belgian Pro League.

MICHAEL ESSIEN - central defensive midfield

The ex-Chelsea man enjoyed his first 90 minutes of the season and was in good shape for AC Milan who beat Hellas Verona 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.

SULLEY MUNTARI - right wing

Muntari had another great game for Milan, having the freedom to switch between roles with Essien shoring up in central midfield.

ANDRE AYEW - left wing

Marseille enjoyed a comfortable 2-0 win over Toulouse and the Ghana star was at the heart of their impressive performance.

ELVIS MANU - supporting attacker

Netted twice for Feyenoord who won 2-1 against Heracles Almelo on Saturday. His goals virtually won the match for Feyenoord.

PATRICK TWUMASI - forward

The 20-year-old continues to gun for the top-scorer award in the Kazakhstan Premier League. He netted his 7th goal of the competition, helping Astana to win 3-1.

RICHMOND BOAKYE-YIADOM - Atalanta

What is more impressive than coming off the bench to score the match-winner for your club? Boakye-Yiadom stepped out of the dug-out and scored the winning goal for Atalanta to help them win 1-0 in the Serie A on Sunday afternoon.
