Swansea step up their bid to sign Bristol City's star Albert Adomah

Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup has re-ignited his interest to sign Ghana winger Albert Adomah in January.

According to The People, City will have to cough over $ 3.5 million for the services of the player who has impressed heavily for the Championship side.

Talks between the two parties have reached an advanced stage with the player expected to leave Ashton Gate.

Swansea City showed an interest in Adomah last summer, but failed to match City's estimation of around £3m and looked elsewhere instead.

Adomah is a key part of City manager Derek McInnes' planning and the Scot will not want to lose arguably his most exciting player, let alone to a Championship rival.

But City's board of directors have a responsibility to reduce the deficit and, as such, are sure to consider any offers that may be forthcoming next month.

Adomah is part of Ghana's provisional 26-man squad expected to begin pre-Nations Cup camping in Dubai early January.
