Suspended Muntari vows to support Black Stars in Kumasi to victory over Uganda
Sulley Muntari wants to travel to Kumasi to support the Black Stars

Italy-based midfielder Sulley Muntari says the Black Stars must comprehensively defeat Uganda on Saturday to win back the fans, confirming that he will travel to Kumasi to support the team to victory against the Cranes.

AC Milan star appealed to the Black Stars to lift the disappointment of the 2014 World Cup by defeating the Ugandans in Kumasi to get their 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier underway in grand style.

Ghana's leading football news outlet www.ghanasoccernet.com exclusively revealed on Wednesday that the suspended midfielder has arrived in Accra from his Italy base to support the Black Stars for the match.

The Black Stars take on the Cranes of Uganda on Saturday in their first match since their disastrous showing at the 2014 World Cup which culminated in the sacking of Muntari from the camp.

He was suspended indefinitely for physically assaulting Black Stars management committee member Moses Armah during a meeting with the players over they delayed appearance fees.

Despite his suspension, Muntari says there are many way he can also support the Black Stars to help boost their confidence to ensure success in the match against the Ugandans.

“If I am not playing it does not mean I can’t do my part to support the players to give us victory. Victory will not only be for the players but for us all as a nation so why should I not get involved even if I am suspended”.

“Even though I am serving a ban I still think there are many ways I can contribute to help this team and one of it is to be present to throw my support behind them."

Muntari added that the players must lift up their game to ensure that they secure the much-needed victory to win back the disappointed fans.

"I believe this is the time for the players to make it work by beating Uganda and not making it worse with a poor start” he appealed to his team mates."

Ghana are in the same group with Togo, Uganda and Guinea in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers
