Gbolahan Salami is one of three Nigeria players who will not be available for Wednesday’s CHAN semi-final against arch-rivals Ghana.

Salami is nursing a thigh injury, while Heartland defender Benjamin Francis and Ikenna Paul have also not fully recovered from injury.

Francis has not played since the team’s second game against Mozambique because of a knee problem, while Paul has been nursing a hamstring complaint even though he has resumed training with the rest of the squad.

Coach Stephen Keshi confirmed the absence of the three players at a pre-match press briefing on Tuesday.

"As of today I have three players that are not fit for tomorrow's game. We have 23 players, three are out, 20 available for selection, and 11 will start so the available ones should do the business," he said.

Sunshine Stars right back Solomon Kwambe has returned from suspension and is expected to reclaim his place in the starting XI, while Bright Esieme will return to left back as cover for Francis.

Shehu Abdullahi from Kano Pillars will keep his place in midfield as he has done so since Paul limped out.
