Sulley Muntari's younger brother Muniru signs for CFR Cluj

Posted On Tuesday, 12th February 2013

Sulley Muniru has signed for CFR Cluj

Sulley Muntari’s younger brother Sulley Muniru has joined Romanian champions CFR 1907 Cluj.

The former Liberty Professionals youth team player was unveiled last Thursday after signing a three-and-a-half year deal.

The 20-year-old had trials at Spanish giants Real Madrid but turned down a contract to play in the youth team.

Muniru, an offensive midfielder, was signed by Cluj as a like-for-like replacement for Senegalese Modou Sougou who has been snapped up Olympique Marseille.

“I just got to Italy with my teammates. We are playing Inter Milan on Thursday and I am in the 23-man squad,” Muniru is quoted by Goal.com Ghana.

“I hope to do my best to help my new team get to the top and also get a call into the Ghana national Under-20 team.”

Muniru has been included in CFR Cluj’s squad that will travel to the San Siro to play against Inter Milan on Thursday in the UEFA Europa League.
