Sulley Muntari returned to AC Milan for pre-season training in New York on Tuesday but was left behind to train in the hotel's gym while the others worked on the pitch.

The Ghana midfielder is among three AC Milan players left behind at the team's hotel by AC Milan coach Pippo Inzaghi for various reasons.

Muntari, Mario Balotelli and Keisuke Honda posed for a picture after finishing their training at the St. Regis Hotel in New York while their team-mates worked on the pitch.

The Ghana international delayed his arrival for the pre-season thanks to his participation in the World Cup with the Black Stars which ended in him being sent home.

He returned to his native Ghana to join family members for the Ramadan fasting in Accra and Koforidua before joining the club for pre-season.

The Rossoneri will hold their first training session in the USA on Wednesday before moving to Toronto where they will their first match of the Guinness International Champions Cup against Greek side Olympiakos.
