Sulley Muntari points to teamwork for convincing win over Barcelona

Posted On Wednesday, 20th February 2013

Sulley Muntari scored the second goal for AC Milan in the 2-0 win over Barcelona

AC Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari has praised his teammates in the 2-0 win over Barcelona in their UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg.

Muntari struck a volley to double the advantage after compatriot Kevin Prince Boateng opened the scoring in the second half at the San Siro on Wednesday night

The Ghana international says his teammates and coach were the reason for the result.

“We played as a team, we listened to our Coach, he did a fantastic job in how he sent us on the pitch,” Muntari said in a post-match interview.

“We were very disciplined and managed to close every angle down so they couldn’t penetrate us.

“If you play without concentration against them they harm you and they make you suffer.

“It is a good lead, but the Camp Nou is not easy. You can have a 5-0 lead but it is not safe as Barcelona have amazing players.

“We have two goals to our advantage and we will do our best to do well.”

GFA please sack this incompetent Kwesi Appiah and bring in a better coach and i am very sure Black Stars will reach the grand finals of the 2014 World cup, everything shows clear that we have the players but the coach is the problem.

    • Kay says:

Coaches have been our problems for a very long time. All those Serbians were not top coaches, yet we performed. Ghana should invest in a world class coach for a long contract, it will be impossible not to surpass Egypt in AFCON trophy. Unfortunately Ghana is settling with a mediocre coach, beaten by Liberia, Burkina and Mali. What a shame.

        Many of you are insane!!

Allegri is under pressure at AC Milan and lost to lower level Serie A sides. The difference is, they did not sack him but, gave him time!!

Kwesi Appiah is a good coach and with time we will rise to the top.

Can you stop your stupidity and constant trolling.

  3. Zambezi says:

Just bcos muntari scored against barca, ghanaians have started overating there ageing players by saying they can reach the world cup final. But, why do u guys talk too much? all ur players are ordinary and average players, they have not got anything special and extraordinary in them.

    • Ghanaman says:

ZAMBIAN APE!!! You don’t have a single player who has cut it in Europe! Your best player can’t get into a mediocre Southampton team! Get out of here you son of a whore!!

    • De Ghana Man says:

Talk way too much, troll. Worry about your team of “never beens” and we will worry about the likes of Atsu, Ayews, Kwadwo Asamoah, Boakye-Yiadom, Warris not even including Badu, Owusu Abeyie, Opare, David Addy…even our “small” boys are playing in better leagues then the majority of your players….joker.
