Sulley Muntari is my role model - Wakaso

Mubarak Wakaso hails Sulley Muntari as his idol

By Ameenu Shardow

Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has revealed the source of his inspiration is Sulley Muntari.

The 22-year-old has become the newest sensation in the Black Stars team ahead of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

Wakaso impressed on his international debut where his goal saw Ghana beat Cape Verde 1-0 in a friendly match played in November.

The Espanyol midfielder who was likened to Muntari during the early stages of his career now reveals the AC Milan player is indeed his role model.

“I really love him (Sulley Muntari) because he is a great player,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“But I can never be Sulley Muntari even though when I was a kid they used to call me junior Sulley.

“I only have good things to say about him and I hope one day I achieve the level he is.”

Wakaso is one of the players likely to make the final Ghana squad for the Nations Cup in South Africa.

His versatility makes him a must have player both at club and national team level.

That’s true! I agree with him.

    Anyway, If the ENGLISH PREMIER
    LEAGUE would have been a
    classroom, then:-

    ARSENAL-Is a boy who works
    hard throughout the year but
fails to succeed because of his
greedy rich family that is not
    ready to spend on buying
    books.

    MANCHESTER CITY- Is a boy
    who purchases all the
    expensive books but is never
    ready to read them.

    LIVERPOOL-Is a child who is
    very much proud of the
    academic achievements of his
    grand father.

    MANCHESTER UNITED-Is a boy
who is always supported by the
    teacher and just performs in
the final exams and tops the
    class.

Finaly, CHELSEA- Is a boy who
when he fails to perform, puts
the blame of failure on his
    teacher and then his family
finds a new teacher for him
    every year!

He is going to be the BREAK OUT STAR at Afcon. It’s up to Akwasi Appiah to know how to deploy him. We haven’t seen the quality of Kwadwo, Jordan, Warris, Boakye from the coach’s style of play.
