Sudan to arrive on Thursday for Ghana World Cup qualifier

Sudan players celebrating a goal in the FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Sudan will arrive in Accra on Thursday to face the Black Stars in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Coach Mohammed Abdallah Mazda has named a strong locally-based 24-man squad which will be cut down to 19 for the trip to Ghana.

The match will be played at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday 24 March.

“The coach named his squad on Tuesday and all of them are local players because Sudan has no player in Europe,” Sudan FA Media Officer Baddaridine Bathy told Sunyani-based Storm FM

“We will hold only one training on Wednesday in Omdurman and then fly to Accra on Thursday morning.

“We’ll be in Ghana in the evening with Egypt Air and from Accra we’ll fly direct to Kumasi to play on Sunday.”

Sudan are third in Group D with one point after being docked three points for fielding an unqualified player against Zambia in their opening qualifier.

All the best Sudan,just play with the same vim that saw u draw with your hosts in the Afcon qualifiers where u drew 0-0. Nothing has changed its the same place ,same stadium nd same opponent.We will be waiting to give you a heroes welcome nd hopefully u’ll finish them off in the second leg in Khartoum. Good luck!

Al Hilal nd El Merriech with a few additionals will throw thunder on Bs…all we need is to remain calm the first 15 minutes…so pliz don’t be shocked if we come back to the country of the Mighty Nile River with 3 pts.

Wow, looking at the comment it’s clear the Sudanese has a very good knowledge of football than that king from the land of the fluke champs…..ex-champs, anyway Sudan I hope the best team wins, but I have a question for you guys. Don’t you think the last time we drew with you it was because we had already qualified? Please just don’t take us for granted like what the sorrowful group of soldiers, carpenters etc (who are here to play FR3-FR3 K)B) kind of soccer) are doing.
