Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris has expressed delight about playing part in Ghana's qualification to the South Africa 2013 Nations Cup.

The 21-year-old Swedish Allsvenskan leading scorer came off the bench in the 86th minute to play part of the Black Stars' 1-0 win over Malawi at the Civo Stadium in Lilongwe on Saturday.

The Black Stars beat Malawi 3-0 on aggregate to secure an historic 19th AFCON qualification.

And Waris who was called-up for both legs says it is great feeling being part of the squad.

"Basically, Ghana qualifying is very great news for the team because we cannot afford to miss out of the competition," Waris told Ghanasoccernet.com

"We went into the game with a positive mentality and we had the results we wanted. I feel very great to be of the team that has ensured qualification for the country."
