Ghana striker Mahatma Otoo insists he is not ‘desperate’ to land a regular first team place in the Black Stars ahead of Tuesday’s crucial World Cup qualifier against Egypt.
The 21-year-old remains a fringe player within the Black Stars team with Asamoah Gyan and Abdul Majeed Waris the preferred striking pair of coach Akwasi Appiah.
The ex Hearts of Oak player continues to bide his time while supporters – especially that of the Phobians – remain relentless in their call to have their former captain get more playing time with the Black Stars.
But the Sogndal hitman says he will continue to wait patiently for his time as he continues to draw inspiration and learn from those ahead of him.
“I am not desperate to play,” he told Montie FM.
“I am a young striker coming up and I am learning from the Asamoah Gyans, from the Sulley Muntaris, how they move and how they score.
“The coach has confidence in me. He always speaks to me before and after games.
“He is the coach and knows when best to play me to get the best out of me.
“So I am very patient and I ask the supporters also to remain very patient for the right time.”
