Kwame Karikari celebrates his strike for AIK at the PSV Stadion
By Akyereko Frimpong Manson
Ghanaian striker Kwame Amponsah-Karikari scored to earn a point for AIK Stockholm as they held Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven to a 1-1 stalemate in the Europa League at the PSV Stadion on Thursday.
The 20-year-old put AIK in the driving seat just after the hour mark with a sublime finish.
Swedish-born Ghanaian starlet, Robin Quaison, tailored a cross for Karikari who rounded up the on-rushing PSV goalkeeper before slotting home for the opener.
Karikari’s opener set the tone for AIK to go all out in a bid to end the game as a contest but a defensive blunder helped the Dutch side to defray the deficit in the 80th minute.
The former Inter Allies striker has now scored twice in the competition.
Midfielder Ibrahim Moro watched the entire game from the AIK bench.
This chap has been banging in the goals in the Swedish allsvenskan as well as the Europa League lately, scoring against big clubs like CSKA Moscow & PSV Eindhoven shows the kind of stuff he’s made of. Also he is the second highest Ghanaian scorer in Europe this season after Majeed Warris, A.A should consider looking at him.
@maxwell u have said it all, though warris has been scoring lots of goals in the allsvenska,I prefer karikari warris, for me he’s all round striker and always rise up to the occasion.hope he can keep on scoring.
There is this chap called Memphis Depay also played for the PSV in yesterday’s game. He is an exciting player and very intelligent with the ball. AA should also consider looking for him. I hope AA is watching the Europa matches
I always get excited when our strikers in Europe and performing because Ghana‘s production of midfielders is gradually shifting to striker production.its up to AA to find a suitable combinations of players that will form a strong team.
It is rather unfortunate but Memphis Depay has already been capped by the Dutch National team
Bellarabi also scored for leverkusen lastnite in the europa league, the earlier Nyantakyi(Agya Nimo)led GFA move their lazy ass for him,the better for us all.I’m sure he may want to play for Ghana more than Morocco.
We shd all help in bringin up the best players of ghana together for this afcon. WE MUST WIN THE CUP!
