Striker Emmanuel Baffour refuses to give up at Mamelodi Sundowns

Emmanuel Baffour wants to fight for a place at Sundowns

Ghana striker Emmanuel Baffour is determined to succeed at Mamelodi Sundowns despite struggling for game time.

Baffour has made only two appearances for Johannes Neeskens’ side in the Premier Soccer League.

Last season’s Ghana Premier League top scorer with 21 goals has failed to meet expectations and found himself as a bit-part player.

But the former New Edubiase United top marksman is optimistic of making an impact at his new club.

“I’m happy here and I only have to fight for my right because is not easy to travel to a different country and become an instant hit,” Baffour told Accra-based Joy FM.

“This is my first time playing outside Ghana and I know all will be well. My only worry is not getting much playing time but I hope with time all will go well.”

What? He can’t survive in SA? I hope he doesn’t think of coming back to ‘re-launch’ his career, becuase that is the end of the it.

  2. nana says:

And there goes another one,Ishmael Addo,Charles Taylor,Benard Don Bortey,Eric Bekoe, etc, etc, all former goal kings in our local league, all rushed to join the bandwagon and ever ended up well,I dunno who advises these players,I thought the Professional Players Association was set up to address this menace of players rushing to sign contracts which never ends well for them or?…there is need for a pragmatic measure to bar players from traveling,at least not until some stage else these left legged Zambians and Sudanese are going to be our archilles hills on the continent,we cannot sit ajar and brag with our historical accolade of four time African champions and always return from tournaments empty handed.GFA,do something oooooooo ton, yabre, aaaaaba.

  3. Blow says:

I wasn’t taken serious when I hammered home about him firing blanks and his laid back attitude. In a team like Sundowns, you need to be explosive. There are an avalanche of stars(prima donas) on display so you take your chances. At this point in time, they are at the bottom of the league from eight games played, so it shows the pressure on Neeskens and his technical team. With the current coach on the verge of being fired, who knows if the next coach will have you in his plans or not.Go big my son or…….

  4. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

SUNDOWNS COACH IS AN IDIOT. ABUBAKAR AND BAFFOUR ARE BETTER THAN MANY OF THE PLAYERS ON THE ROSTER. THEREFORE, WHY ISNT HE GIVING THE GH PLAYERS PLAYING TIME? THESE GH PLAYERS ARE NEW TO THE LEAGUE. THEY NEED MORE PLAYING TIME TO GET COMFORTABLE AND AQUAINT THEMSELVES WITH THE STYLE OF PLAY. SITTING THEM ON THE BENCH WONT DO THEM OR YOUR CLUB ANY GOOD. AFTERALL, THEY R GETTING PAUD TO WARM THE BENCH. U MIGHT AS WELL PUT THEM TO WORK. SO WE ALL CAN SEE IF THEY TRULY DESERVE TO BE THERE OR NOT. INSTEAD, THIS FOOLISH, PREJUDICED COACH IS SLOWLY BURYING HIMSELF. WAT AN IDIOT. I WATCHED SUNDOWNS PLAY PIRATES LIKE OVER A MONTH OR SO AGO. THE MINUTE I SAW THE SUNDOWNS COACH, I KNEW HE WAS PREJUDICED. THIS DIRTY, NO CLASS COACH. HE WILL BE FIRED SOON. THE GH PLAYERS SHOULD JUST BE QUIET AND BUY TIME. IF A NEW COACH COMES IN AND DECIDES TO DO THE SAME, THEN THEY SHOULD SPEAK UP AND DEMAND MORE PLAYING TIME OR A TRADE ELSEWHERE. BULLSHIT!

    • Final Whistle says:

Massa you just talk any how. There is the likes of Issah mohammed and Sarfo Gyamfi playing well in Meritzburg united. The problem is not the coach but the players! No coach will risk being fired if whilst having good players sitting on the bench.Am surprised they accepted Sundowns deal whilst South African players are even refusing to sign there coz of playing time.

      • GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

FINAL WHISTLE, WAT DO U MEAN BY “No coach will risk being fired if whilst having good players sitting on the bench.Am surprised they accepted Sundowns deal whilst South African players are even refusing to sign there coz of playing time”.

WHAT IS STOPPIN THE COACH FROM USING GIVING THESE PLAYERS, PLAYING TIME? BCOS THEY R NOT GOOD?. IF THEY WERENT GOOD, WHY DID SUNDOWNS BRING THEM IN? BAFFOUR WAS GOALKING AND ABUBAKR WAS PLAYER OF THE YEAR, SO WAT DO U MEAN THEY ARE NO GOOD?
LOOK, THE PLAYERS ARE THERE. THE CLUB IS NOT DOING WELL RIGHT NOW. WHETHERE U PLAY THEM OR NOT, U WILL BE FIRED. SO WHY NOT GIVE THESE PLAYERS THE PLAYING TIME THEY NEED. IF THESE GH PLAYERS ARE NOT EVEN FAMILIAR WITH THE SOUTH AFRICAN STYLE OF PLAY, WAT GOOD WILL SITTING THEM ON THE BRING TO SUNDOWNS? AH,U ARE GOING TO DIE REGARDLESS, WO WHY NOT MAKE USE OF THE PIECES U THINK ARE NOT EVEN GOOD.YOU NEVER KNOW WAT MAY COME OF IT, YOU KNOW. THESE PLAYERS ARE GETTING PAID TO WARM THE BENCH. WHO IS THE LOSER? THEM OF THE CLUB? YET, A MONKEY LIKE YOU HAS THE NERVE TO SAY” I TALK ANYHOW”….THE ISSUE IS NOT THE CLUB THEY SIGHNED FOR, BUT THE COACH. ALLOW THIS COACH NEES OR WATEVA HIS NAME IS TO COACH ORLANDO PIRATES OR MERITZBURG AND THE RESULTS WONT CHANGE.
