Young Ghanaian striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom is excited to have finally ended his lean spell with a goal for Sassulo over the weekend.

The 19-year-old began the season on a roll – scoring eight goals in five matches before injury set in.

The on-loan Genoa striker until the weekend had gone over five games without a goal and shares his relief at getting his name back on the scoresheets.

“It hasn’t been easy throughout this period, working and training very hard and not being able to score as a striker,” he said.

“Thankfully the Lord showed his favour upon me and everything was excellent.

“Some of the problems were through the injury because I was getting a series of injuries but thankfully that is behind me.”

Boakye-Yiadom adds he is looking to hit his pre-season target of a 15-goal haul with nine games left to go in the Italian Serie-B.

“Hopefully I could add five goals more to reach the 15-goal target I set for myself this season.”
