Brunei side DPMM will not break their bank to sign ex-Ghana captain Stephen Appiah, reports in Singapore have claimed.

The club’s official website confirmed they will be hosting trials for several prominent players including the Ghanaian iconic figure.

But fresh reports emanating from Singapore indicate that the move is unlikely to happen as the club is unwilling to break their banks for the player.

It has been hugely speculated that the club is only willing to dole out $10,000 for a ‘star’ player which will potentially put off an established figure like Appiah from signing the dotted line.

“They are not willing to pay the market rate for these players and they expect them to go through a trial," a source close to the club is quoted as saying

DPMM wants big-name players but they do not want to pay big wages for them,”

The former FK Vojvodina  enforcer has previously failed to land a deal with Iranian club Persepolis.
