Former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah does not want last Sunday's incident to take the shine off the Black Stars' emphatic win over Sudan.
Appiah was bullied by security personnel when he tried to enter the VIP lounge at the Baba Yara Stadium in Ghanaââ¬â¢s 4-0 victory causing many to speak against the way in which the former Juventus man was handled.
Reports say, it took the intervention of Asante Kotoko financier Kennedy Agyepong and other football dignitaries to resolve the issue before the former Fenerbahçe man was allowed to take his seat at the stadium.
Outspoken King Faisal owner Alhaji Grusah joined many to condemn the disrespectful manner in which the 'El Capitano' was treatment.
But Appiah, who led Ghana to two successive World Cup appearances (2006 and 2010), wants to nib the incident in the bud.
"There must be concentration on the Black Stars and not on the incident that happened," he told Accra-based Happy FM.
The Ghana National Sports Council, custodians of the venue, has officially issued an apology to Appiah.
