Stephen Appiah storms Black Stars camp

Posted On Friday, 1st June 2012

Stephen Appiah has visited the Black Stars ahead of their qualifier against Lesotho

Ex-Ghana captain Stephen Appiah arrived in the Black Stars camp on Friday morning in Kumasi ahead of their game against Lesotho to boost them in the World Cup qualifier.

Appiah-who quit international football after the 2010 World Cup finals-wants to offer his support to the team.

He led Ghana to two successive Word Cup finals before hanging his international boots.

The 30-year-old is active at club level and had a successful season at Serbian top-flight side Vojvodina.

Appiah has had an influence on current members of the Ghana national team.

On Thursday, injured Andre Ayew was at the team’s training session at the Baba Yara Stadium.

I love Stephen Appiah dearly. But can this website stop using the word storm and simply say visit. Storm makes it seem like he went there and caused some sort of havoc as opposed to trying to inspire the team.

    Great move by Stephen Appiah…

We love all the form stars but i think it is the time for all the stars to stay away from the boy to concentrate on football. The visitation by our former stars is getting out of control.England, Germany, France will not allow that kind of too much visit at the national camp.

    • Sam says:

@bbc,Hey bbc i disagree with u, this Ghana, not germany or those other countrys u mentioned, Different mentally, different culture. Everything different. I dont see nothing wrong with for players visiting current players in camp.
