Ex-Ghana captain Stephen Appiah says he would love to start with the Ghana U17 coaching job if he decides to enter into coaching.

Appiah believes starting with the youngsters would prepare him for the big jobs in future.

The former Juventus player won the FIFA U17 World Cup at the 1995 finals in Ecuador and wants to hone his coaching talent as a youth team coach.

“I first shot to prominence during the Under 17 tournament and I would like to coach the Black Starlets sometime in the future if I start coaching,” Appiah disclosed on Joy FM.

“There is no need to rush when you can start and prepare yourself well.”

Appiah is preparing for life after football after an illustrious playing career which saw him win titles in Italy and Turkey.

Although, he has not played competitive football since leaving Serbian side FK Vojvodina in 2012.
