Stephen Appiah wants Black Stars to be cautious against Egypt

Ex-Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah has hailed the team’s fighting spirit but has urged caution ahead of the return fixture of the 2014 World Cup play-off against Egypt.

The Black Stars produced a faboulous display to humiliate Egypt 6-1 in the first leg qualifier at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi on Tuesday.

While hailing the team for their spirit and determination to qualify to the World Cup in Brazil 2014, Appiah has also urged the team to measure their excitement ahead of the return fixture.

“It’s a good win for us and we must celebrate today. But tomorrow the celebration must stop and look forward to the return leg,” Appiah said

“The fixture is far from over. This is football and anything can happen. So we must cut short the celebration and start preparing for the return leg.

“We are more than capable of beating them there but we must not leave anything to chance.

“We must make it double over them to signal our intentionl clear at the World Cup.”

The Black Stars will play the return leg fixture in Cairo on November 19.
