Maxwell Konadu has given the clearest hint that goalkeeper Stephen Adams could gatecrash Ghana’s World Cup.

The Aduana Stars shot-stopper won fans over at the recently concluded CHAN tournament in South Africa where he shone.

Adams seized the moment and advertised his goalkeeping prowess during the three-week tournament where he made a number of crucial saves to send home-based Stars to the final.

Many local fans back home have clamoured for the inclusion of the 24-year-old in the squad ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Local Black Stars coach Maxwell Konadu hailed the performance of the glovesman and says he could be considered for the World Cup after excelling heavily.

“Adams is a fantastic goalkeeper. We all saw what he did in this tournament and deserves a pat on the shoulder,” Konadu said

“Drafting him into the main Black Stars is the prerogative of coach Kwesi Appiah but I believe the young man has distinguished himself.

“I am pretty sure he will seriously be considered because this was a great platform for everybody and he soared very high.

“I have no doubt in my mind that my senior man (Kwesi Appiah) saw him and should be impressed.”

Adams conceded only a single goal in open play during the tournament where Ghana won silver after losing 4-3 on penalties to Libya.
