Sports consultant Okraku prescribes cure for Ghana after AFCON failure

Posted On Thursday, 21st February 2013

Ghana MTN FA cup committee member Kurt Okraku wants Kwesi Appiah to bite the bullet

A renowned Sports Consultant Kurt E.S Okraku has prescribed an antidote for Kwesi Appiah to restore the Black Stars to glory urging him to call-up experienced and promising talents.

The Managing Director of Proton Services Limited is urging the Ghana trainer to hand call-ups to experienced and budding talents to aid his ambitions of qualifying to the 2014 World Cup and winning the Nations Cup in 2015.

He says Marseille star Andre Ayew should be quickly re-called into the team while also clamouring for calls for in-form Greuther Fürth’s exciting left-back Baba Abdul Rahman as well Yahaya Mohammed and Emmanuel Osei-Banahene as an option to Asamoah Gyan.

He told GHANAsoccernet.com: “Kwesi must forget about what has happened and bring back Andre Ayew into the team,”

“Was dropping him for AFCON not an enough statement of intent by the coach?

“He must also look in the direction of Yahaya Mohammed. By far the best defensive midfielder whom in my opinion is better than Emmanuel Frimpong.

“Emmanuel Osei-Banahene is by far the best option to Asamoah Gyan. He’s very strong and deadly at dead ball situations.

“Baba Abdul Rahman is the best natural left back Ghana has seen in 30-years and should be considered as well as bringing back John Mensah, who brings stability regardless of his so-called current situation.

“I cannot also forget the exploits of Sulley Muntari for AC Milan.”

Ghana’s abysmal showing at the tournament has led to calls for experienced players to be recalled into the team while players who showed little or no commitment shown the exit door.

It has been hugely speculated that the axe will fall on the likes of Derek Boateng, Anthony Annan, Emmanuel Clottey, Awal Mohammed and Daniel Agyei.

BAD ADVICE. Yahaya Mohammed who couldnt play at Rennes is better than Emmanuel Frimpong? banahene is better than Jordan and RBY and Affum? approximately 39 year old John mensah should be recalled?
Look before you compare players compare the strength of the opposition teams they verse day in day out. This guy is leading Appiah to the same path he took to the recent Afcon. What a bad advice.

  2. Theo says:

This man is promoting his players. He has no Ghana on his heart. He wants only his interest. Selfish man who was sacked at Ghalca because of bad management.

  3. Godsent says:

  5. Pillar says:

Mantey we need these players badly: Baba Rahman, Nana Kwasi Asare, Emmanuel Frimpong, Samuel Affum who is like a predator, Jordan Ayew, yahaya mohammed, Majid warris, boakye yiadom

  6. mojahadine says:

So here is the problem I have with the GFA, we have all these good players as discribed by this Okraku guy and this coach cannot even see it? no way, Akwesi Appiah is cluless and unintelligent. He needs to go.

  7. JOE ATISO says:

MOJAHADINE OR WHATEVER YOU CALL YOURSELF,STOP YOUR IRRATIONAL,HOLLOW AND BASELESS ATTACKS ON AKWASI APPIAH. FIND SOMETHING USEFUL TO DO WITH YOUR IDLE MIND AND TIME SINCE AKWASI APPIAH DOESN’T DESERVE YOUR SENSELESS PERSONAL ATTACKS. AKWASI APPIAH MUST BE GIVEN TIME AND SUPPORT TO STEER THE BLACK STARS WHOSE FORTUNES HAVE BEEN DWINDLING FOR SOMETIME NOW. I WON’T BE SURPRISED THAT A CLOSE-MINDED SERIAL CRITIC LIKE YOU WAS TIGHT-LIPPED WHEN THESE WHITE INEXPERIENCED JOURNEYMEN COACHES WERE BROUGHT IN DROVES TO WASTE TAXPAYERS MONEY BECAUSE YOU’RE AN ASS-KISSER. STOP YOUR ILL-MOTIVE DRIVEN CRITICISM OF COACH AKWASI APPIAH BY MAKING SENSIBLE COMMENTS. GOD BLESS AKWASI APPIAH, KWASI NYANTAKYI AND OUR DEARLY BELOVED BLACK STARS!
