Ajax Cape Town will slap in an improved offer to Ashantigold for their defender Lawrence Lartey.
The Ghanaian side rejected an initial offer of R1-million from the South African side for the services of the player last month.
But officials of Ajax Cape Town are keen to land the player and will increase the fee to prize him away.
Ashantigold will hold a meeting with the player this week to sort out his long-term future with media reports suggesting he is keen to join a foreign club.
The Ghana U20 captain has many suitors but so far it looks like the South African side are the most serious contenders with the miners believed to be ready to sit and talk about his move.
Lartey put up a stellar performance for Ghana’s Under-20 team at the 2013 FIFA World Youth Championship in Turkey where the Black Satellites clinched bronze.
