Sogndal defender Gustav Valsvik and manager Jonas Olsson are on a collision course over why Mahatma Otoo is being left to rot on the bench.
The Ghana striker has only managed three starts since joining the Norwegian outfit in the summer for an undisclosed fee.
Otoo has been left to rot on the bench while the club continues to struggle in the Norwegian top flight.
Sogndal again endured another home defeat on Sunday when they were downed 2-1 by Valerenga.
The defeat has resulted in many of the Sogndal fans questioning the tactics and selection of the coach Olsson – including his trusted defender Valsvik.
But Olsson maintains he is the boss and that all decisions to be made with regards to selection is his to make.
“I know that I am in a far better position to consider this than Gustav. It is I who is coach, not him [Valsbik],” Olsson said.
“I could make lots of different things, but I do think we got the maximum out of each player today.
“I will continue with this team, and I am proud of the achievement of the players.
“We have two home fights and one away game. There are nine points to play for, so anything can happen.”
Otoo who was crowned Goal King in last season’s Ghana Premier League is still in pursuit of his first goal for Sogndal.
