Sierra Leone have pulled out of a friendly against Ghana’s FIFA World Cup playoffs opponents scheduled for 28 September.
The West Africans cited security concerns over their refusal to play the seven-time African champions.
Egypt wanted to use the exhibition match to prepare for next month’s first leg against Ghana on October 15
“Sierra Leone sent us a response last night saying they will not come to Egypt after their players refused to move because of the security concern,” Egypt assistant coach Diaa El Sayed confirmed to SuperSport.com
“This now means our preparations for Ghana are in danger.”
Egypt will begin camping on Thursday with 23 locally-based players for the crucial assignment.
