OYO State Commissioner for Youth and Sports has directed the management of Shooting Stars Sports Club to pay the medical bills of former player Joe Appiah.

Ghanaian Appiah, who played for IIC Shooting Stars alongside goalkeeper Edward Ansah, is back to the hospital for treatment.

Appiah has been sick for some time and was taken out of the hospital following the inability of his family to continue the treatment and like he did in the case of Sam Ojebode.

Commissioner Dapo Lam-Adesina said Appiah who has served the club meritoriously must not be allowed to die of sickness that can be treated.

"This is unacceptable, we won’t watch our former star to die while we can still do something," he said.

"I have directed the management of Shooting Stars to ensure Appiah is given the best of treatment.

"He has served the club to the best of his ability and we need to urgently come to his aid.

"Human life is very important and we must do everything to save it, more so that this man has contributed a lot to the state with his God given talent," he concluded.
