Despite having seasons of experience in the American top-flight and highlighting his lethargic abilities upfront from FC Dallas to Toronto FC, Ghanaian striker Dominic Oduro has not been considered for a place in the MSL All-Star team to face Bayern Munich in a pre-season game.

The MSL league announced a 23-player roster that will be drawn upon when the elite MLS line-up faces the reigning Bundesliga champions and 2013 UEFA Champions League winners on 6 August at Portland, Oregon.

Notable among the names are English duo Jermain Defoe and Bradley Wright-Phillips, Australian Tim Cahill and Republic of Ireland's Robbie Keane, former Arsenal star Thierry Henry, Clint Dempsey of Seattle and Landon Donovan and American 2014 FIFA World Cup defender DeAndre Yedlin.

Oduro, 28, remains one of the most experienced players on the American top-flight after playing in the top-tier since 2006, switching clubs six times; featuring for FC Dallas, New York Red Bulls, Houston Dynamo, Columbus Crew, Chicago Fire and now Toronto FC.

After playing in 13,760 league minutes in 240 games and scoring 48 times, the attacker was generally expected to be named in the All-Star squad but he has been left out.

He has scored thrice in 7 games for Toronto in the current season.
