The senior women’s team, the Black Queens have been left stranded at the Accra Sports Stadium as the pitch is being occupied by juvenile school football gala.

The Black Queens had arrived at the nation’s Wembley at 15:00 GMT to train ahead of their African Women’s Championship qualifier against Burkina Faso.

The team of players and officials were however unable to descend from their team bus as the field is already occupied by a school activity without their notice.

Worst of all, a grand stage is being mounted on one halve of the pitch to be used for a non-sporting activity this weekend.

Coach Yusif Basigi was left to make several calls to management members of the Black Queens for remedy.

It is however unclear why the Black Queens were made to arrive at the stadium to train without knowing the facility is unavailable.

Even more worrying is that the visiting team - Burkina Faso - are to access the Accra Sports Stadium for their final training session before the match.

The Ghana FA has now been left in a dilemma as they now have to find an alternative venue for the qualifier which was originally scheduled to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
