Quincy Owusu-Abeyie could head to Naples after Napoli interest

Italian Serie A side Napoli are interested in signing Ghana winger Quincy Owusu-Abeyie from Qatari side A-Sadd, according to reports in Italy.

Napoli boss Walter Mazzarri has been monitoring the exploits of the 26-year-old who spent last season on loan with Greek Super League side Panathinaikos.

Mazzarri has identified the former Arsenal player as the main-man to replace Uruguayan international Edinson Roberto Cavani who is set to exit the Stadio San Paolo.

Owusu-Abeyie netted six times for Panathinaikos in 30 appearances and provided 18 assists.

Napoli are expected to officially table a bid to sign the former Dutch youth international.
