Serbian club FK Cukaricki have refused to release midfielder Obeng Regan to the Ghana U23 team for their 2015 All Africa Games qualifiers against Mozambique.

Regan was one of seven foreign-based players invited by coach Malik Jabir into the Black Meteors squad that is already in camp.

FK Cukaricki however say they are unable to release the 20-year-old for the first leg of the qualifiers to be played this weekend.

The Serbian club have the prerogative to either release the Ghanaian or not since the All Africa Games is not covered by the FIFA law which obligates clubs to release players for international duties over a specified period.

Cukaricki claim they need the former Asante Kotoko youngster for key games in the cup and the domestic league.

The club will face Vozdovac on Wednesday in the Serbian Cup and their league game at home to Partizan at the weekend.

Regan has been a key player for Cukaricki this term having made 16 starts so far this season.

The club however says it is ready to release the talented Ghanaian youngster for the return leg match against Mozambique in Accra.
