New Ghana U20 coach Sellas Tetteh has been tasked to qualify for the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup in Turkey.

Tetteh, a 2009 FIFA U20 World Cup winning coach, was confirmed by the Ghana Football Association on Monday.

The former Rwanda boss will achieve the target if he manages to guide the team from the Group stage of the 2013 African Youth Championship.

Ghana are in Group A alongside hosts Algeria, Benin and Egypt for the tournament which will be played from 16-30 March.

"The task is to make sure he qualifies the team to the next edition of the World youth championship," Ghana U20 Management Committee Chairman George Afriyie said.

"At least we need to set an achievable task but yet if we win, fine that will be laudable.
