Sellas Tetteh is honoured to be making a return to the Ghana U-20 side as head coach.
The 56-year-old was the man in the saddle when the Black Satellites won the treble in 2009.
Tetteh was appointed on Monday as the substantive replacement for Maxwell Konadu who qualified the side to the African Youth Championships to be staged early next year in Algeria.
Konadu is unable to lead the team to the tournament due to his commitments with the Black Stars where he serves as the assistant coach.
And Tetteh who feels elated to have been handed back his former job recognizes the effort made by previous coaches of the side during the qualification series.
"I am extremely honoured to have been considered for this job. To be honest, it was not expected, but now is time to work," he told supesport.com.
"Orlando (Wellington), Maxwell (Konadu) and all their assistants and everyone else have done their bit.
“Without their work we won't be talking about me taking over to Algeria.â€
Ghana hopes to win their fourth African youth title in Algeria but Tetteh’s clear mandate is to qualify the team to the World Cup in Turkey.
The Black Satellites are drawn in Group A alongside hosts Algeria, Benin and Egypt.
