Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has been recommended by his European scouts to sign 23-year old Udinese enforcer, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, reports the Metro.

The Ghanaian international has been impressive in his stint with Udinese in Serie-A and has also been scouted by North London clubs Arsenal and Tottenham.

Brendan Rodgers is currently facing a shortage in the number of players available for selection in a few positions and while his main target for January remains a left-back,

The Northern Irishman is also being asked to look into the versatile Agyemang-Badu, who is capable of playing a holding role in midfield as well as a defensive role.

The 7 million pound rated rising star could provide Liverpool with necessary cover in both midfield and defence, which has prompted Rodgers to consider a bid for the player in January.

The 23-year old is one of the three major signings on Rodgers’ mind at the moment with the likes of Martin Montoya and Mohamed Salah already being heavily linked with a move to Anfield.

Agyemang-Badu has been capped 41 times for his country Ghana and has scored 7 goals for them.

His stature in Serie-A has also been growing every season since his arrival in Italy in 2010.

The Ghanaian is known for his aggressive approach and has also made clear his desire to play in the Premier League.
