Ghana's Messi on a trial with Scottish giants Celtic

Ghana’s hugely-talented midfielder Frank ‘Messi’ Acheampong is on a verge of a big move to Europe as he has arrived in Scotland on trial with Celtic.

Acheampong, who is seen by many as the most talented player out of Ghana since Abedi Pele, is on trial with Celtic, the club’s manager Neil Lennon has confirmed.

The 19-year-old, who has one cap to date for his country, arrived at Lennoxtown on Friday to try his luck with the SPL side.

Acheampong is currently with Thai Premier League side Buriram United, having joined from Berekum Chelsea in his homeland in 2011.

Ghanaians were hugely disappointed when the talented player moved to Thailand when several clubs in Europe where chasing him.

But he is now on the verge of making the fans happy by playing against the best in Europe, a move that is expected to put his career on good footing.

His first appearance for Ghana in a friendly draw with China in August this year, playing 60 minutes before being substituted.

Charles Taylor is the most talented ghanaian player after abedi and noone can tell me anything different!!! Taribo west, asked a ghanaian player where Charles taylor is after playing against him in accra and said he has never seen a player like him!!! So powerful,so skilled and silky skilful,so mercurial, very cunning, has lighting pace, good in the air and above all can used both feet!! There is no player after abedi who could have helped ghana than charles taylor and i have seen some players talking very highly of this dude!! Sometimes u could have the talent but it takes more than this to reached the top!!! Against south africa in baba yara stadium,i saw a genius taylor turning highly experienced mark fish inside out!! He made fish dance to his wonderful upper body feint, rhythm and movement!!! His was a pure raw talent that was just a wonder to behold!!! Viva the revolutionciooooo!!!
