Kevin Boateng is racing against time to be fit for Schalke this weekend

Jens Keller is planning to go into Schalke’s Bundesliga clash at Eintracht Braunschweig without Kevin-Prince Boateng but will give the Ghana midfielder as long as possible before making a decision.

The 26-year-old missed Ghana’s World Cup play-off against Egypt due to a troublesome knee injury.

The Schalke boss has revealed he will make a late decision on the impressive enforcer before their game at Braunschweig on Saturday.

“Kevin’s injury is healing very well”, Keller told the club’s official website.

“However, we’ll have to make a late decision on whether he’s alright for Saturday.”

Boateng picked up the injury during their 4-1 win over Augsberg two weeks ago.
