German Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04 have employed a ‘knee-healer’ specialist to get midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng fully fit for the second half of the season.

Bernd Fischer has joined the Royal Blues’ mid-season training camp in Doha, Qatar ostensibly to work on the Ghana international’s troublesome left knee.

The physiotherapist will work with the 26-year-old still Wednesday working on the 10-million euro player in addition to the normal training day two units.

When he joined Ghana’s squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup second leg qualifier against Egypt in November last year, Boateng had to visit the treatment room after joining Ghana’s squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals playoff return leg.

Schalke General Manager Horst Heldt said: "The continuous monitoring is important so that the knee is stabilized. We have therefore taken together with Kevin and practice, Frank / Fischer's visit.

"On the first day of training in Doha, Boateng was not working properly. On the second day, we saw the old Prince."
