Schalke director Horst Heldt doubts if Kevin-Prince Boateng will play for Ghana again

Schalke director of sport Horst Heldt believes that Kevin-Prince Boateng has played his last game for Ghana after being sent home during the World Cup.

The 27-year-old was told to pack his bags by Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah after a heated exchange between the pair following a training session.

Heldt does not expect the issues to be resolved and that Boateng will not therefore return to representing his country.

“I cannot really imagine him playing for Ghana again,” Heldt told Germany’s Bild newspaper.

However, Heldt does not expect any negative repercussions on a club level.

“I’m certain this World Cup and his suspension is not going to burden him,” he added.

“In fact, anybody who knows Boateng will know that he will actually be even more motivated by the whole thing.”

Africa’s are so backward especially Ghanaians. I support Kevin and muntari for their actions. ANY GHANAIAN WHO IS AGAINST THEM FOR THEIR ACTIONS IS A FOOL AND CANNOT REASON PROPERLY. ITS EVEN HIGH TIME SOME LEADERS ARE FORCED TO RESIGN THROUGH VIOLENT PROTESTS.

  2. Wilson says:

I really don’t think violence is the best solution now but by the look of things violence sometimes is the answer. the President should have sacked the ministers but he reassigned them. what a complete waste of human resources, I feel so sad for this dear nation vexing half Ghanaian

    • askantwi says:

Ghana was stupid to call back Prince Boateng for the World Cup in the first place. Now we have also giving him a golden opportunity to stay away from the team after the World Cup, plus a $100,000.00 reward.

  3. PeeWee says:

His heart wasn’t even in the country he was representing anyway, he chose Ghana because he had no chance of representing Germany due to his bad attitude (he said this himself). Our narrow minded GFA allowed him a return to the team after he had quit, only to exhibit his arrogance. I said it here on this forum before that allowing some of these self seeking players back into the black stars after they had excused, or suspended themselves would only bring trouble; but some gullible hero worshiping individuals used all kinds of unprintable adjectives to insult me on the forum. I have always said that Ghana is too endowed with talent for us to comb around the world begging people with remote attachment to the country to play for us. Football is just for entertainment… what has it brought us all these years we’ve been playing the game? Politicians only use it to divert attention whiles they milk the country dry. With poverty everywhere in Ghana, the government was quick to airlift $3m to pay players and corrupt officials in Brazil whiles many communities don’t even have access to electricity to watch the games.

  4. Readi 2 dye says:

Well fuck kevin boateng, fuck muntari , fuck essien…..they all bitches…fucking assholes….we let in this big mouth punk from germany come infiltrate our camp n instigate dumb zongoboy muntari….i knew them two was gon b trouble if together….fuck yall n if u smart enough kevin u know to find me…better come correct cuz we stay ready dumbass….we shuda known when the german team kick u out….on the other hand fuck mahama ,ankrah, nyantkye n kwasi appiah….peace to dede ayew n Kwadwo asamoah……ooouuuu!!! So pissed.

  5. Papadinho says:

Kelvin: There are a lot of issues revolving this team which Ghanaians dont know so they say what they feel like.
They are all corrupt and they always want ti make money from us without working for it.
I know i may not be called into the team again but im highly elated dat i belong to anti corrupt group in the team ( Sulley, Dede Ayew, Jordan Ayew ,Kwarasey, Kwadwo Asamoah, Essien n myself)
It is very insane for John boye n Gyan to tell the Manager to drop Kwarasey for Dauda just 45min before the match, all because he cant speak the local language to command the central defence.
Im very dissapointed in the manager and the entire staff. What is the use of so many GFA officials here.
We are very sorry to Ghanaians for what happened but we were pissed, for they were using us as their “cash cow” to dube the nation.
How can players dictate to the manager. So i asked, what is the role of the so-called technical bench?

  6. askantwi says:

You’re damn right. Andre and Jordan Ayew, Essien especially, and Prince Boateng should never have been accepted back. Likewise Sulley Muntari for his chronic indiscipline attitude. Asamoah Gyan too for turning his back on Ghana simply because some fans slammed him for penalty misses. Such behaviors are the results of arrogance, insolence and misplaced egos on the part of the players. How dare could Asamoah Gyan and John Boye tell the coach to replace Kwarassey with Dauda? Unprecedented, sad and unfortunate.

  7. keith from germany says:

soms of u beloved forumites got it wrong.
There have been corruption going on
since nyantakyi made kwesi appiah a coach of the blackstars.
Eventhough i dont support their behaviour,i support their mentality.
why is it that the players and the officials were brought under the same hotel roof?
That was the mistake the coach made
by allowing all the officials to mingle to with the players during training sessions.
look at the the top nations at the wc,they are all seperated from the fa officials to enable them to concerntrate and do their job without distraction.
Kpb,essien, kwarasey n muntari were let dowm by their colleagues like badu n the rest so there was no unity in the team.
At 2010 milovan Rajevac sacked all the unwanted officials from the teams camp to avoid distracting the players.
and we all saw the results.
look ar how sulley played against germany n usa playing his heart out for the nation.
why were kpb n kwarasey werent themselves becuz they knew the coach was very corrupt n always doing nepotism and favouritism.
kpb was questioning AA coaching antics becuz he had none.
Kpb has trained under coaches like j├╝rgen klopp, massimo allegri, lucian favre and now jens keller n even they listened to him to disscuss tactics.
i dont think kpb challenged AA but rather he wanted to disscuss tactic issues with AA but we ghanaians sometimes get offended when we are being asked a simple question.
Thanks Sulley and Kpb for exposing this corrupt Gfa.
    AA must definately go

  8. Benny says:

Let nobody criticise KPB .he did what he did out of frustration .AA is like class one pupil teaching University graduates.KPB should have punched AA in the face.
I wonder how the players felt having been coached by top class coach and then to be coached by AA.
I can deduce AA left KPB on the bench against USA just to show him who is in charge. No more local coaches.

  9. Carlos Danger says:

I have been reading comments both here and ghanaweb. Ghanaians sometimes are idiots. For someone to say they need to get rid of our good players like Sulley and co and also fined them is a moron. The players were not paid and GFA was trying to pull a fast one on them and they stood up as that was wrong. The world is changing and some of our old ways need to change… Just because an older person is doing the wrong thing does no mean the young ones should no speak up.

The problem is not the players, it’s the institution— Ministers, GFA, and AA. They should all be sacked and not reassigned. If we can fix the system and get a new tactical coach who will be fair with player selection we can go a long way..

Gyan, Dede, Kasa, afful, Jonathan Mensah, sulley, rabiu, acquah are solid players and Should be kept and the rest are not BS material or need to work on their game to merit call up.

  10. Alhaji says:

Thanks @keith,you’ve said all I want to say.Disorganized sports ministry, corrupt FA and inexperienced coach who is arrogant.kpb n Sulley wanted to win so badly but Gh pple don’t understand, just hope pple think abt d broader picture?this is all the FA and cohorts wanted us to believe.we ain’t buying dem trash n snitching.the current FA shd be dissolved and the technical team of blackstars be dissolved except Maxwell Konadu,he is the future of. Gh football. On a lighter side a friend of mine has been complaining abt how Agyemang Badu d snitch could have bedded Becca? I told him but we re in Gh,haha…..

  11. kwasi nkroma says:

@CALEB pls I don’t know where you come from and where you are going.but I pls and pls we can’t over throw our leaders with violence. since it was this same issue that keeps on affecting numerious African countries till date .thank u I can’t insult u and don’t be offended of my word but is something more than the truth .think

  12. Tanko says:

Readi 2 Dye: leave the zongo boy alone!!!!! It’s about time that nonsense of zongo this zongo that comes to an end. If you want to insult Muntari, go ahead but you can’t insult the entire zongo. Nonsense. If it doesn’t stop one day we will be headed for a civil war to stop the belittling if zongo folks. Nonsense

    • andy hama says:

Tanko, tell them it doesn’t matter geographically where a man comes from,no one chooses
where he wants to come from but God. What matters is what you do to be successful in life, and improve the lives of others around you,Sulley Muntari will always be a hero,no matter what,he has improved his life to sit and dine with Kings,so I ask who is now coming from Zongo, the wretched soul who did nothing to help his miserable life or GREAT Sulley. When a
man dies alone to protest against injustice, that man is special!!!

  13. kunle says:

Things we get better soon lets pray for the team and everyone rather than casting blames..its everywhere even my naija fa got their own but we need to pray for peace.Gudluck Ghana..I love ur football and pls no matter what ..gfa shd never abadon suley muntari..gyian and essien one love africa.

  14. Michael says:

Hello, fellow ghanians, literates and illiterates, civilized and uncivilized, educated and uneducated. Let’s be circumspect in every situation that happend in our beloved country, be it politics or soccer since they are dearly to the hearts of many Ghanaians. What I am asking from every Ghanaian is to exercise patience when matters arise so that we dig down to the bottom of it rather than raining insults on these athelets . Let no one insult sulley muntari and Kevin Boateng. By hearing what tramspire in the camp, we should rather rain insults on these so called GFA people who did nothing meaningful to help our team. We should blame the incompetent GFA president who hired an incompetent coach which is not capable of managing egos of his star players. The entire gfa officials must be dissolved and dismissed, because they are very corrupt and thieves whose sole purpose is to cash in on every tonament. Just look at recent match fixing scandal hanging on their head. I do not condole voilence as the solution to any problem but sometimes when persuasion fails force must be applied. Personally, I used to be a soccer player myself and I know how painful it is when someone is making money out of u. And we Ghanaians are bias people. Why should a player decide as to who keep our post? What is the main purpose of the coach and his technical staff. Personally I don’t like local coaches, because they bias and naive. When a foreigner is in charged they don’t listen to anybody but their instinct, and that’s why we were successfull in the previous World Cup appearances. I totally agree with KVP b’cose as Ghanaian resident in Germany , I know how truthful the Germans are. Kevin is not as bad as you people describe him. Kwasi Appiah fumbles with our first match and resulted in our consequence matches. All he has to say is I am sorry to Ghanaians. We hired mediocare coach and we got mediocre results. Leave Kevin, sulley, essien, Adrea and Jordan alone, for without them we nothing, trust me!! AA must be fired b’cose anytime he is in charge of the stars there’s always confusion. I remember when they took the captainship from him to Abedi, that was where the team got devided” the Ashanti’s and the non Ashanti’s. Kvp has every right to questions AA’s tactics b’cose he was expressing his God given right. In life if you don’t show competence people ll look down upon u. AA should be and must be fired as well as Kwasi nyatekyi. They are thieves and therefore they must leave for fresh brain to manage our beloved black stars. What a disgrace GFA.

  15. Kwaps says:

It is very painful to see our so called leaders displaying the highest level of incompetence. The team couldn’t perform b’cos of bad leaders, no doubt abt that. Every time Sulley Sulley Sulley, wht has he done? AA and others should have sacked themselves b4 sacking Sulley. Ah ah ah, but who the fuck appointed AA as coach koraaa….,

  16. biggie says:

personally i could care less.. we held germany to a draw will boateng on the bench. as a matter of fact when he went off we were able to score so bun him and shalke we can make it with or without him.. ghanians talk too much with little facts.,, none of us withness anything but everyones got an oppinion…kmt

  17. Boro says:

Who cares what he does with himself after a disappointing world cup, who only succeeded in blabbering rather than showing his actual talent on the field. An indiscipline chap whose career was going nowhere but we help rescue his career. He had become a drunkard, always at club drinking and was about losing his career to the gutters when portmouth has relegated from the premiership. Even after the good showing at the world cup it was Genoa who bought him and later loaned this ungrateful chap to AC milan, no big club wanted him then instead of showing his appreciation to us we rather went and begged this useless guy to play for us. Why would’t he bluff by asking us to pay his physio.

  18. Nii from Mamprobi says:

All you idiots that want to condemn KPB & Muntari – wake up.

You think players who play in Champions league and are world class level would want to disgrace them selves unless they are mad like Suarez. use your brains!!!

The coach was disorganized, lacked leadership and was confused tactically and the GFA was trying to fix matches and scam the players.

Gyan & Boye asked Appiah to drop Kwarasey -KPB

    • Tetteyfio says:

Nii of Mamprobi, do not believe all you hear. There might have been some issues in the camp but KPB is not a guy I will want in my team. Let us stick with the young players. Unless he gets his way he will be disruptive to Ghana. He is of no use to Ghana. Whether Kwasi Appiah stays or not, we do not need KPB in our team

  19. Tetteyfio says:

I am surprised that some people are supporting Kevin Prince Boateng. That guy just used Ghana to improve his stock n the soccer world. Ask football fans in Germany and they will tell you the kind of guy he is.
A guy who quit the BlackStars after the 2010 World Cup, then made a u-turn when he saw that Ghana was going to the World cup. Tell me if he is not a “prostitute” player.

He complained about not starting in the USA game. He came on and he was our worse player. The coach started him in the Germany game and he was our worse player too. He was just walking around, talking to his brother.

Kwasi Appiah and the GFA made a mistake inviting him. I am glad he is no more with the team. Good riddance to bad rubbish

  20. Samuel D. NiiAryee says:

Kervin Boateng only came to brazil on site seeing. In all I don’t blame to Players. I put the blame on The coach. He is no motivator. have no new technic to give to the players. He was just standing back like dommy seeing what the players are falling short to score goals. It ‘s not about just how hard you can play the ball. the bottom line is to score goals. No matter how you play. The coach must go, and should not lead Ghana Black Stars in any International competition ever again, he was just been captured by Brazil and don’t know what to do or say to his players.
