Schalke General Manager Horst Heldt has hailed the impact of Kevin-Prince Boateng in their 2-1 derby win over Borussia Dortmund  over the weekend.

The Royal Blues claimed the Revierderby bragging rights as they coasted to the vital win.

Boateng came to the party for the side following recent criticism over his performance and manager Horst Heldt hailed the contribution of the Ghanaian international.

"We are pleased with the victory over Dortmund. It was a very intense and exciting game, he said

“The team gave up from the first to the last minute and built many balls goals, especially in the first half, while in the second he defended with the advantage.

“If we had not had a player like him on the field today probably wouldn't have won. All were good, but Boateng was the key to our success. "
