Schalke 04 have opened talks with BK Hacken for Waris

By: Akyereko Frimpong Manson

German Bundesliga giants Schalke 04 have opened preliminary discussions with BK Hacken about signing Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris, Ghanasoccernet.com can exclusively confirm.

Officials from the Gelsenkirchen met their Hacken counterparts in Gothenburg last week and they are reportedly settling on a $1.2 million fee for the 21-year-old, who is also a target for Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven and European champions Chelsea.

PSV Eindhoven have been alerted by the reports in the Dutch media and will officially table an offer before the close of the week.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are expected to continue monitoring the progress of the former Right to Dream Academy graduate who played part of the Black Stars 2013 AFCON qualification on Saturday.

Mega-spending Manchester City sent their Football Development Executive Patrick Vieira to watch the hot-shot in September.

Waris has raked in 24 goals from all competitions this season for BK Hacken.

Hello No.. Look at what they did to A. Annan and Sarpei.. Please do not honor their interest. Go somewhere else or demand playing time in your contract..

  2. Abrantie-In Da House says:

To hell with Schalke!! Please don’t go to that team. Go to a place you know you could play.

  3. Maxwell Johnson says:

Hell no to this deal, besides $1.2 million is an insult to the young chap.

  4. real sabacious says:

Not a bad move but i wonder if he can meet the demand of then bundesliga.i think the Holland and the french ligue will be the right destination for him now, since the swedish league is not in a high standard,it will be better for him to taste his strenght in the above mentioned leagues before thinking of making a move to any of the 4 major european leagues.A word to a wise is enough!

  5. Nii Kwatei says:

Schalke, seriously? Who’s he going to replace there? Huntelaar, the goalking of Germany? Afellay? No just look for either a high table Dutch team like Vitesse, or a low table German team like Freiburg orso.

    • Pippo says:

Nonsense this are some of the comment you guys make thats why Asamoah Gyan is now at where he is. Let the boy challenge himself for the spot, you will have said the same thing to Essien when you knew he will be going to Madrid.

  6. Al says:

i Would rather like to see him move to Hamburg, Bremen or especially PSV where he’ll definitely be a sensation and also get to know Memphis Depay, which can probably help us in acquiring him(which the GFA by the way has not done SHIT about).

  7. DORMENYO says:

    ARSENAL, the gunners. Shaaarp…..

  8. coconutman says:

Arsenal or Chelsea, definitely the EPL.

  9. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

HE SHOULD GO TO ARSENAL OR THE DUTCH LEAGUE. AA, PLS DONT CALL THIS GUY BACK TO GBSTAR UNTIL HE LEAVES SWEDEN AND IS SUCCESSFUL ELSEWHERE, IN A COMPETITIVE LEAGUE. YIADOM AND AFFUM ARE MUCH BETTER STRIKERS

  10. Maxwell Johnson says:

Like I’ve always been saying he should move to the Dutch Eredivisie and aid his development before making a BIG move, he is still young and has many yrs ahead of him. I doubt if he can make it in the Bundesliga cus of the high demands, I perfectly agree with Saba.

  11. Kwaku Tee says:

This boy should be careful with German clubs with his height I don’t think he can make it in the Bundesliga especially being a striker,he should rather go to Holland,Belgium or France to develop his game.I would have added Spain or Italy but the stakes are higher over there.
