Former president of Evian Thonon Gaillard, Patrick Trotignon is being investigated for the transfer of Ghana midfielder Mohammed Rabiu to Russian side Rubin Kazan.

Investigators claim Trotignon, who was removed from office in December 203, served his selfish interest by selling Rabiu for 1.66 million euros which was lower than offers from Benfica (3 million euros) and Fulham ( 2 million euros).

He will appear before a Commercial Court in Thonon-les-Bains on 18 December.

But Trotignon has watered down those allegations by saying: "I reject with force and firmness the charges. Furthermore, emails can be modified, corrected, and then, we need to explain to me what the embezzlement is and who stole the money?

“Each player transfer is reflected in the club's accounts. All this is an incredible fantasy and the process of trying to destroy me today is not very nice."

Rabiu was transferred to Rubin Kazan in August 2013 after playing three seasons at Evian TG (one in Ligue 2 and two in Ligue 1).
