Saudi-based striker Emmanuel Osei Banahene has been handed an opportunity to shut his critics after his call-up for Ghana’s 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers this month.

Al Orobah player has been invited to replace injured captain and reliable goal scorer Asamoah Gyan.

Banahene’s performance of one goal in nine league appearances in the Saudi top-flight has helped matters at all.

Last year, he was called up for the friendly against Turkey when he was playing for Sanliurfaspor but injury denied him the opportunity.

The 26-year-old former Berekum Chelsea striker will join 22 players train in Accra on Tuesday for the matches against Uganda and Togo.
