Samuel Inkoom has moved to France from Ukraine
Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom has ended his nightmare in Ukraine by sealing a move to French Ligue 1 side Bastia, the right-back has confirmed.
The 23-year-old signed a two-and-a-half year contract from Ukrainian side Dnipro late on Thursday night.
The deal will leave the defender at the French club until June 2015.
He will wear the No. 2 jersey.
GHANAsoccernet.com, Ghana’s leading football news website, brought reports of the just before the winter transfer window closed on Thursday night.
He finally confirmed it on Friday via social media which has sparked hopes of a revival of his career.
“I’m moving from Ukraine to France. Hello @s_c_bastia !,” the Black Stars defender tweeted.
Inkoom has frozen at Ukrainian side FC Dnipro after falling out with coach Juande Rames following his association with the Ghana national U23 team.
He managed only one appearance for top-flight side before the winter break.
His inactivity cost him a place in Ghana’s squad for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
Inkoom has 37 caps with the national team of Ghana, but has not been selected to participate in the African Cup of Nations 2013.
The 23-year-old was also sought-after by English Premier League clubs West Bromwich Albion and Liverpool.
German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen were also reported to be interested in his services.
