Ghana international attacker Samuel Afum wants to improve his scoring form and score more goals for Swiss side Young Boys after netting a brace over the weekend.

The 22-year-old former Ghana Premier League Golden Shoe winner marked his first start of the season with a stunning brace Young Boys as they posted a heavy 8-0 win over Veyrier Sports in the Swiss Schweizer Pokal on Sunday.

Boys took the game straight to their host and Afum’s explosive pace on the right flank fetched the first goal as he cut open the defence and laid a pass for Yuya Kubo to connect home.

Sessolo’s doubler was a benefit from the former Hearts of Oak man’s work and was again involved as Nuzzolo scored the third.

After performing his architectural duties, it was time for the former Ghana U23 attacker to get his name on the score-sheet.

He scrolled unchallenged through three defenders to slot home in the 67th minute and sealed iced the party with the last goal of the game two minutes from time.

Afum who arrived at Bern at the second half of last season is moderate about his scoring form over the weekend and insists there is more goals to propel the Swiss Super League leaders.

"It is always great to score you especially when it is two or more and I did that. But I'm not stopping off but starting off and contribute my goals to the team's campaign," he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

"All I need to do is to stay fit and avoid injuries then we see what the season will bring to us."

Young Boys have been in their opening five games of the season, winning all of their games.
