Ex-Ghana defender Sam Johnson has thrown his weight behind Avram Grant to land the Black Stars coaching job due to his ‘stubbornness’.

The former Chelsea manager is in pole position to win the race with growing doubts over Bernd Schuster and Marco Tardelli.

Both Schuster and Tardelli have reportedly denied their knowledge of the Ghana job to put the former Israeli coach in firm grip to land the hot job.

Sam Johnson, an ex-Ghana star,  believes Avram Grant is the right man to lead the team to success due to his many positive attributes.

“At this time, we need someone who is tough, strong, and stubborn like Burkhard Ziese when he come, he will do what he likes and will tell you when I’m wrong, sack me,”

“So for me, looking at Grant and his rich experience, such a person I think is the best man for the job.”

Grant became famous after leading Chelsea to the UEFA Champions League final in 2008.
