Celebrated Ghanaian coach Sam Arday has praised the Black Stars’ resounding victory over Niger in the 2013 AFCON.

The four time African champions booked their place in the quarter-finals of the 29th edition of the Nations Cup with a comfortable 3-0 win over minnows Niger at the Nelson Mandela Bat Stadium in Port Elizabeth.

Captain Asamoah Gyan opened the scoring for Ghana as early as the 6th minute before FC Porto whizkid Christian Atsu increased the tally with a sublime finish on the 23rd minute mark.

Stade Rennes center-back John Boye put the tie to rest with a close range finish.

The 67-year-old who guided Ghana to glory in the 1995 FIFA U-17 World Championship, is thrilled with Kwesi Appiah’s side.

“The team is developing well through the tournament and I was very impressed with their output in yesterdat’s game,” he told Accra-based Happy FM.

Ghana have booked a quarter-final berth with Cape Verde on Saturday.
