AS Saint-Etienne coach Christophe Galtier has ruled out signing Ghana World Cup striker Jordan Ayew.

According to the reports, the 47-year-old does not want to recruit any player who will be leaving for the Africa Cup of Nations next January in Morocco.

The former Marseille defender has decided to sign French striker Kevin Monnet-Paquet.

"Christophe Galtier will not recruit player may play in the African Cup of Nations," a club source is quoted by La Provence.

Ayew is regarded as surplus to requirements by Marseille coach Marcelo Bielsa and linked with a host of French Ligue 1 sides including Nice and Lille.

The 22-year-old has also been targeted by English Premier League side West Bromwich and clubs in the Bundesliga.
