Black Stars management committee member Moses Armah said he said something provocative to merit the punches he received from Sulley Muntari at the World Cup finals.

Armah  confirmed he was hit twice by the AC Milan and blocked a third blow before replying which sent the player down.

Muntari subsequently followed him into his hotel room and damaged his phones and gadgets which cost more than US$ 8,000.

The incident happened when senior players met with Ghana Football Association officials to discuss their World Cup appearance fee which had still not been paid ahead of their final Group match against Portugal.

“I did not say anything bad. I told them they should have patience because for a whole president of the nation to call and promise like this, why should decide not to go for training and so on. That was what I said,” Armah told the Presidential World Cup Commission of Inquiry on Thursday.

Armah is the owner and club president of Ghana Premier League side Medeama and also a member of the Ghana Football Association Executive Committee.
