Sacked Sports Minister Elvis Afriyie Ankrah claims Black Stars players disrespected President John Mahama by refusing to talk him at their technical meeting before playing Germany.

Afriyie Ankrah had wanted to talk to the team via Skype but they ignored which was as a result of the delay in the payment of appearance fees.

But the President finally spoke to the players in the dressing room ahead of their 2-2 draw in Fortaleza.

"We had arranged and we were going to put the President on Skype at the hotel. They had their last technical meeting and we went in there and they had just finished the meeting," he told Metro TV's Good Evening Ghana host Paul Adom Otchere.

"We were just about to connect and they started leaving and one particular player ....this is the President can you just spare us a few minutes, he said no no, dressing room, dressing room and then he added I hope he doesn't speak for one hour.

"We are talking about the President of the land, the commander in chief. Under no circumstance..."

Afriyie Ankrah has been re-assigned as Minister of State at the Presidency.
