Baba Abdul Rahman says he was delighted with his call-up

Germany-based talented youngster Baba Abdul Rahman says he was ecstatic when he received a call inviting him to the Ghana national team for the first time.

The Greuter Furth left back is among the four debutants invited by coach Kwesi Appiah for Sunday’s 2014 World Cup qualifier against Sudan.

Abdul-Rahman was handed his first Black Stars invite along with Emmanuel Frimpong, David Accam and Mahatma Otoo as first timers.

The youngster, who plays in the German top-flight just months after securing a move to Europe from local side Kotoko, says he screamed when he got the call to the Black Stars.

“I screamed. I was so happy,” Rahman said when asked about his reaction when he received news of his first Black Stars call-up last week.

“I was part of the national under 20 team and I moved to Germany and now, I am part of the Black Stars. My family called to congratulate me and it was really unbelievable.”

Rahman, who is very familiar with the Kumasi Stadium where the match with Sudan will played having featured for Kotoko says the venue for Sunday’s game will serve him well.

“When I first heard that I would be playing in Kumasi, I was very happy because that was where I played, I know the stadium well and the fans are wonderful.”

Burkina worried us because of the physique.we need tall and strong player who are technically good. The Senegal ‘92‘ squad was us best squad in modern GH football because of their physique and technical play.AA was in that squad so he needs to build one.
