Cristiano Ronaldo trained separately from his Real Madrid team-mates on Tuesday ahead of the Champions League final on Saturday.

Ronaldo has suffered from a number of injuries of late for Real Madrid and there is some doubt over the Portuguese's fitness ahead of this weekend's Champions League final against neighbours Atletico Madrid in Lisbon.

The former Manchester United forward was taken off after just nine minutes with a hamstring injury in a 1-1 draw against Real Valladolid on 7 May and then played no part in Real Madrid's final game of the season against Espanyol after suffering a recurrence of a thigh injury during the warm-ups.

Real Madrid are aiming for a record 10th European Cup on Saturday when they meet Atletico Madrid and, while they are considered favourites to do so, despite seeing their city rivals win the La Liga title, they could potentially have to contend without Ronaldo, who appears to still be suffering from the injury.

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti maintains that the two-time Ballon d'Or winner will be fit and ready for the Champions League final, however, Ronaldo was forced to train away from the rest of his team0mates on Tuesday days away from the showpiece.
